Ben's granpda Harry passed away in early June. He was such a wonderful man! He had spent most of his life in Colorado before moving to Washington state for the remainder of his life. The funeral was in Colorado and we drove out for a few days to be there for the celebration of his life.
When Ben's grandma had passed away many years ago, Harry and the children and grandchildren dug her grave by hand. They did the same thing for Harry. It was a really neat experience to see the family come together, and for everyone to have a part in moving the dirt where his earthly body would be put to rest. Everyone got in on it.
We spent several hours at the grave site digging, and the kids had fun doing a little digging and lots of playing.
It's so fun when we're able to all be together!
Cleaning off the dirt after going back home.
The funeral was meaningful and a great celebration of grandpa Harry's life. We miss him but are thankful for the promise that we will see him again someday!

Later that evening family and friends got together in Andrew and Kassidy's yard, which is grandpa's old house. We had a barbecue, just like grandpa liked to host when he lived there. It was a beautiful evening to sit outside and catch up with lots of people we don't get to see often enough.
Tess and Hudson - these two love each other!
I had lots of these selfies on my camera after he was supposedly taking our picture! :)
We drove home through the night so the boys would sleep, which they normally do so well. Hudson really struggled this time, so when we stopped for gas he got a little love from Ben. So sweet!
