It's Carson's birthday weekend and he couldn't be more excited about it! His birthday fell on a Saturday this year, but several family members had a wedding to go to, so we had his birthday party Friday evening on his birthday eve.
Love this sweet boy. He wanted a Lego birthday party, surprise surprise! The cake was fun to make and he loved it.
Marissa had adorable Minnie Mouse cookies made for Emery's party and they were so delicious, I had them make Lego cookies for this party.
Every time Harper looked away, Hudson went in for the steal. This kid is so ornery!
On to presents...Carson loved every single thing he opened. This is such a fun age where he gets excited about everything.
Carson also requested that everyone coming to his party dress like ninjas. I found these paper ninja masks at Target and couldn't resist :)
Our gift to him was this Gator we got on Craigslist. The kids were so excited to take it for a spin! The battery lasted oh, about 30 seconds. Fail! Thankfully after ordering a new battery it works great.
Tyler and Kristin stayed after the party to play games. We let Carson stay up later than normal to build part of one of his new Lego sets with Tyler. I'm not sure who was having more fun!
The next morning was Carson's actual birthday, and we headed to Columbus for the day. Before hitting the road we stopped for donuts - a birthday tradition! The kids ate more donut holes than probably should have been allowed.
We met these lovely ladies and their families for brunch at Northstar Cafe. Was so fun to see them and catch up a bit!
There's a spray ground right outside of the restaurant and we brought swim clothes so the kids could play for a bit after brunch.
After playing, we changed the kids, said goodbye to our friends, and Bruce and Karen met us. Karen wanted to take Carson to the Lego store to get him his gift, and Carson was beyond excited. All morning during brunch and playing he kept asking if it was time for the Lego store yet.
It was very hard to make a decision, but eventually Carson found what he wanted. Hudson got his birthday gift too - spoiled kids! We spent well over an hour in the store just playing and looking around.
After Lego shopping we ate a late lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. More celebrating!
After lunch and a little more shopping, we headed home. Carson had such a fun day and was so tired. He took a long nap in the car, but not without holding his new Legos :)
The next day we had lunch at great grandma's house and celebrated his birthday one more time. It was a busy weekend, but every single thing we did was SO fun. Love this little boy! Thanks to everyone that helped to make his birthday special. Happy Birthday Carson!
