Teal 5K

Kendra and Kevin planned a 5K to raise money for ovarian cancer awareness.  Our family made the trip down to Virginia at the end of May for the race.

This rest area had a beautiful view and the boys enjoyed stretching their legs a bit before getting in the car for the final leg of the trip.

We spent 2 nights in a hotel and had an adjoining room with the Hofstetters.  The kids had fun being crazy in the small space!

We went for breakfast at a local restaurant and Hudson got his head stuck in the chair.  We all couldn't stop laughing!  Thankfully it came back out fairly easily.

Both evenings we were there, I was able to go over to Jenna's and spend some one on one time with her.  We sat and reminisced, looked at old pictures, and I held her hand while she slept in between.  It was an emotional couple of days that is for sure, but I am so thankful that I was able to spend those two evenings with her.

I came back late the first night to this adorable scene in our hotel bed.  Be still my heart!

Saturday morning we went over to the middle school where Kendra works and helped to get everything set up and ready.  Kendra and Kevin did an awesome job organizing everything and it all ran smoothly.

There was so much teal!

Ben was a trooper and pushed the stroller in the grass, up and down hills, and on inclines through the cross country course.  I pushed it maybe 100 yards :)

We love you, Jenna.

After the race Ben and I hopped in the car and headed for Pittsburgh for a college friend's wedding.  My parents took the boys from Virginia back home so that we could enjoy the wedding kid-free.  We realized that we were all going to be in Morgantown about the same time, so my dad offered to grab me Starbucks while we filled up with gas.  We were pushing it to get to the wedding on time and Ben was a little stressed and said I didn't have time for Starbucks.  Dad to the rescue! :) However, we got gas and sat forever waiting for them to come.  They didn't answer when we called, but according to the handy Find My Friends app, I could see they were still at Target where the Starbucks was located.  Ben was stressing and about to just leave when they finally called and said they were coming.  They were walking out to go to the car and these Stormtroopers were outside.  My parents said Carson just froze in his tracks and was in awe.  They had to stop for a few pictures.

As they were driving down to meet us, Carson told my parents not to tell me that he touched the gun because he knows I don't like guns.  So funny!

They also got cake pops for the drive home.  It's fun to travel with grandma and grandpa!

Ben and I made it to the wedding with about 2 minutes to spare.  It was a beautiful wedding and fun to catch up with old friends!

It was a long, busy, emotional weekend but all worth it.
