Hudson :: Two Years

How is our baby two?! While the days are sometimes long, the years most definitely have been short. It's been a fun two years and we can't imagine our family before Hudson was in it!  Here's what Hudson is up to at two years old:

  • He is as ornery as they come!  If something isn't child-proofed, Hudson will find it.  If Carson is playing with something, Hudson will steal it and go running with it.  If a crayon or marker is found, Hudson will draw on the walls with it.  And when you catch him he gives you the sweetest little smile because he knows that he is rotten!
  • He loves to be outside.  He loves riding his motorcycle, riding in the stroller, playing in the sandbox, swinging, anything outdoors!
  • He is talking more and more every day.  Some words are clear, some are harder to understand.  He is starting to put a few words together, like "Mama come" and "Ball mine".  Overall, he talks much less than Carson did at his age.
  • He is a champion sleeper.  Goes to sleep on his own with out much fussing between 8:30 and 9:30 and we usually don't hear him until after 7 the next morning.  He takes one nap in the afternoon that ranges from 1 1/2-2 hours.  As of two weeks before his birthday, he no longer uses a pacifier.  We cut the end off, told him it was broken, and he threw it away.  It was surprisingly easy to end!  He has asked for it a few times, but not often.
  • He is becoming much less of a picky eater.  He will eat most things on his plate, including vegetables which used to be a challenge to get him to eat.  He LOVES sweets (like his mama!).  He hasn't met a candy/ice cream/cake/cookie that he doesn't like!
  • He wears some 18-24 month clothing and some 2T.  He wears a size 4 diapers.
  • He is attached to 2 stuffed dogs, Ella and Suds, that look just like the real Ella and Suds.  He asks for them every time he goes in his crib to sleep.
  • He is starting to pretend play and it is so fun to watch.  He sets up little farm scenes with animals, pretends to cook at the kitchen, etc.
  • He has little interest in peeing on the potty, but if he is without a diaper, he pees every time.
  • He knows a few colors like yellow and white, but gets the others mixed up at this point.
We love you so much Hudson!
