My parents family dog passed away while we were at the beach, so we all went over to bury her one evening. Let me tell you the kids had lottttts of questions!
Preschool open house :)
Love how he wrote his "s"!
We packed our lunches to eat at the park after preschool on a beautiful day. Carson had gotten this birthday treat from a classmate and he was pretty proud of it!
Friday night pizza and a movie - their favorite!
They've been really into eating a whole baby cucumber as their snack recently. They just eat it like a cheese stick - makes me laugh!
Walked over this on the way into work - stopped me in my tracks. Fall is so beautiful.
Peanut butter on a spoon as a bedtime snack - my kind of kid!
Carson's class passes around a knock knock book joke that has all of the classmates pictures in it. Carson thought it was so fun when it was his turn to bring it home and loved looking at it with us.
We took my dad to the airport in Cleveland so naturally made a stop at Starbucks on the way home. We skipped naps to take him and the boys thought that was especially fun!
Ben and Kyle were gone on a men's retreat, so Marissa and I took the kids to a pumpkin patch for their Fall Fest. It was cold and drizzly and not very nice weather for being outside, but we went anyways and the kids had fun.
Riding the horse-drawn wagon out to the pumpkin patch.
Ice cream to end the night - it was freezing!
One of our church friends is also a Bronco's fan, so when Ben heard the Broncos would be playing in Cleveland, they started dreaming up a plan to go to the game. Well, it happened! It was chilly, but for my first NFL game it was fun. I will say I still prefer a Buckeyes game over this though :)
Ben and his brother "traded" trucks - this was right before Ben was getting ready to drive it to Saint Louis to make the switch. He and a friend drove out there and met Jake and Andrew, switched trucks, and caught a Rams game. This truck was brand spanking new when Ben and I started dating at Hesston 12 years ago. It was his baby ;) It's been a great truck but was starting to rust pretty badly, so Ben was glad to get something new. I think he was happy it stayed in the family :)
Looks almost the same, just a little newer! A lot newer.
Because his brothers were driving from Colorado, Ben asked them to bring a "few" pumpkins for us. This is what they brought!!! Pumpkins for days. We took some to Carson's preschool, we've crafted with them, we've given lots away, we've decorated with them, and there are STILL lots of pumpkins in my yard!
Hudson's pants got put into Carson's drawer, and when he got dressed, he didn't even notice!
My poor dad is having some nerve and disc issues in his neck. This is how you can find him sitting almost all the time - he's in a lot of pain. We are praying he can find a solution to the problem sooner rather than later!
Running in the fall when the air is crisp and the sky is clear is seriously therapy to me. This is my happy place.
Hudson went through a little phase where he was sticking things up his nose - mostly food like goldfish. It happened a few times and I always told him why he shouldn't do that when pulling it out. Well, one day I gave them each a little sour candy and two minutes later Hudson came crying to me telling me it was stuck in his nose. I looked and couldn't see it, so I didn't believe him. He kept crying so I got a flashlight to look, and sure enough it was way up in there! I got a pair of tweezers to try to get it out, meanwhile his eye and nose are watering because of the sour candy shoved up in there. I couldn't get it with the tweezers and he had sneezed several times and it hadn't moved. We were getting packed up to head to Urgent Care when he had a huge sneeze and the candy flew out like a rocket. That kid!! I think he learned his lesson - it's been a few weeks and no more objects have been stuck up his nose.
Being silly before bedtime. What Carson does, Hudson does too! Sometimes that's a great thing, and other times it can be a challenge.
We go to story time while Carson is at preschool. Hudson loves these little "friends" outside the building and he always has to stop and sit with them. When he leaves he tells them, "Bye friends! See you later!" It's the cutest.
Grandparents day at preschool
Hudson is my stuffed animal lover. He almost always has one with him, and when he comes down from nap, he always has a whole armful of them with him.
Sometimes we stop at great grandmas to visit...and get cookies of course!
They are high energy most of the time, but every once in awhile they curl up together and it's the sweetest thing.
Trunk or Treat at the church nearby - they picked their costumes out of the dress up bin.
Sorting their candy - I remember doing this as a kid!
Can't believe winter is right around the corner. I could use another month just like this one before that snow comes! :)
