Donut Run

A long time ago our friend Steve said he would never run a race unless it involved some sort of food he loves.  Literally two days later, he got an email advertising a Donut Run 5k that was going to be happening on Halloween in Columbus.  A few days later, a bunch of us were signed up :) The race was on Saturday but we decided to make a longer trip out of it and headed to Columbus on Friday afternoon.

Ben unfortunately had to go to the office for the afternoon, so the boys and I headed to the zoo solo.  It was chilly and overcast, but Carson asks to go to the zoo often, so we decided to go anyways.  The weather must have kept a lot of people home, because the zoo was empty!  I love it when it's like that.

They really wanted to feed the giraffes but when we got back there, the giraffes were inside because of the cold.

After the zoo we picked up Ben and made a very important stop before heading to our friends for the evening.  Tyler and Kristin came over to play games and we had such a fun evening just like old times.

Saturday morning it was race time!  We had quite the entourage.

At every water station, they had donut holes.  It was awesome :) Also, side note, I totally thought we would be walking with all of those strollers, and then we ended up running almost the whole thing.  I felt so gross with my hair down!

Four donut holes in one - guess he has to eat them!

The boys enjoyed the donuts too :)

At the finish you got a box of 6 donuts to take home and Starbucks coffee.  All of the entry fee money went to cancer research.  It was such a fun race and I'd definitely do it again!

After the race we headed to the science museum.  They had a temporary Lego exhibit so of course Carson was pumped.

So many fun things for the kids to do. After a few hours there, we ate lunch at a restaurant close by.

And ended the day hanging out at the Beachys and getting pizza before heading home.  It's always fun to visit!
