College Reunion

It's been 10 years since graduating from Hesston (!!!), so a few of us decided it was time for a reunion.  We've done a pretty good job of seeing each other over the years at various weddings and a few get togethers, but there was nothing on the horizon that was an excuse for us to see each other, so we planned a trip.  Elisa was 35 weeks pregnant, so we all met up in Colorado Springs where she lives.  I haven't spent a lot of time in Colorado Springs, and it is such a fun town!

Rochelle, Marissa and I flew in on Friday morning.  That evening we went to a Tim Hawkins comedy show at a local church.  Y'all, he's hilarious.  I was skeptical, because I've been to a comedy club in the past and didn't really enjoy it, but I laughed harder than I have laughed maybe ever.  He is so funny!  And it's a good thing too because us easterners had all been up at the crack of dawn to catch our flights, and by the time the show was over it was 1am at home.  If he wasn't so hilarious I definitely would have fallen asleep :)

Rochelle brought sweet baby Beckett.  We all loved getting our baby fix in all weekend!

Saturday morning we headed to Garden of the Gods to go on a walk.  It was beautiful!

After walking we went to Manitou Springs for lunch, a little hippie town filled with local shops and restaurants.  We walked around the town until we found a place for lunch.  We had barbecue and it was delicious!

After naps at home, we headed to get pedicures.  Beckett enjoyed his first pedicure :), and I think Rochelle was mortified at how many people came and just wanted to touch him and grab his bare little feet!

That evening we went to Pueblo for dinner to meet Jake, Kerry, Adrienne, Andrew and Kass for dinner.  It was so great to be able to see them while I was so close!  It felt weird being in Colorado but not going to Cheraw, so it was nice to get to see family for sure.  Adrienne and I sent this picture to Ben to make him jealous.  She's grown so much since we last saw her in June!

Love this girl.

Adrienne face timed with Hudson and Carson :)

Sunday we headed to Patrick and Elisa's church.  Patrick and Dakota, their 2 year old, had sleepovers at a friends house all weekend so that we had the house to ourselves.  It was so nice of them to give up their home for us.  We are standing in front of an aspen tree in this picture.   A few of them were still yellow, and if you looked up in the mountains you could still see patches of yellow, but Elisa said 2-3 weeks prior it was absolutely beautiful.  I would love to visit Aspen sometime in the fall!

Sunday afternoon we went on a hike.  It was a 2 mile loop up the mountain to an overlook and the views were breathtaking.  Colorado is gorgeous!

Ben face timed me while we were hiking - someone was missing his mama :(

As we were hiking up, there were a few places where the edge dropped straight off.  I knew the trip down was going to be dicey for me! :) The others couldn't stop laughing at my fear of heights.  It's real people!

After the hike we stopped at a shaved ice stand.  It was so good!

Yum.

Ben sent me this picture while I was gone - he took the boys out hunting for the first time.  They even went to Wal-Mart and bought camo shirts for the boys.  He said there wasn't a prayer to see anything with how loud the boys were, but they had fun and made memories :)

I flew home early Monday morning.  It was a great weekend, but so good to be home with my family again!
