How can it be?? Our sweet Hudson Isaac is 18 months old. He is happy, animated, strong willed, ornery, mischievous, and so full of laughter and love. He brings so much joy to our family! Here's what Hudson is up to at 18 months:
- He loves Carson and happily plays beside him wherever he is. If Carson is fussy, Hudson is too. If Carson is playing nicely, chances are Hudson is too. They are starting to play more together and it is so fun to see!
- He is still not talking much. He makes lots of sounds, points to objects and tries to say them, but not a lot is recognizable. His clearest words are mama, dada, Ella, duck, yes, ow, and ball.
- He is a grandpa's boy. Both of them! If we are skyping with grandma and grandpa Froese, he yells at grandma to get grandpa if he can't see him. "Pawpaw!!"
- His sleeping is getting so much better. He goes to sleep on his own and sleeps all night consistently. He is an early riser, usually around 7, and naps 1-2 hours in the afternoon. He occasionally gets a short morning nap as well.
- He's our picky eater. Carson would eat anything and everything at this age, and Hudson is more of a challenge. If it's green, chances are he doesn't want to eat it. He loves meat, rice, fruit, and anything with good flavor. Except for veggies. I am having to get creative with hiding veggies in food which I have never had to do before! We have had many times where he sits and cries because we make him at least eat a bite. Brings back memories of me crying at the dining room table because I just couldn't fathom drinking my milk!
- He loves balls, music, dancing, and being outside. Take him outside and he is content!
- He wears mostly 12-18 month clothes and some 18-24 month. He wears size 4 diapers.
- His love for books has emerged. He will sit and flip through books on his own, and he loves to back into your lap with a book and look at all the pictures. Doesn't matter if it's the same book over and over, if he's being read to, he's happy.
- He is ornery. Really ornery. He walks around the house just looking for things to do that he's not supposed to. Currently as I type this, he's pulling playing cards out of the game drawer. He can frustrate me so much while at the same time melt my heart in the same 5 minutes it's crazy.
- He is 26 pounds (80th percentile), 32.75 inches (58th percentile), and his head is in the 97th percentile. At 18 months, Carson was 31 pounds. Hudson is much smaller than he was!
We love you so much little man!
