Sunny skies and perfect weather for the long drive. The boys did SO well and enjoyed looking at all of their new books that they had opened the night before.
Hudson got this stuffed pug from Tyler and Kristin who he immediately called Suds and became attached to. He hasn't slept a night without her since!
Everything was closed on Christmas Day, which makes for limited options when stopping to eat. But not Starbucks!!! When I saw they were open, I was so happy. Starbucks is an essential when driving 18 hours!
We knew IHOPs were open on Christmas Day, so we planned to stop for a late dinner in Kansas City. The boys enjoyed stretching and bouncing all over the booth before getting back in the car for the last 8 hours of the trip.
We made it to Colorado at about 2:30 in the morning, so we put the boys to bed and crashed. Was nice to be able to sleep a little after being up most of the last 24 hours!
Puerto Rican meal at Dave and Peggy's - some of the best food on earth! Carson still asks about playing with Drew and Kason. He had such a fun time with them!
The gang was all there and it was so great to catch up with everyone. This doesn't happen very often anymore!
We drove around looking at Christmas lights then ate dinner at McDonalds.
Carson's happy meal spy glasses - I laugh at this picture every time I see it!
The boys got lots of quality time with grandma and grandpa as well as their aunts and uncles.
Jake got a coyote call for Christmas, so we bundled up in FREEZING weather and headed out to try it out. A coyote came pretty quickly, but Ben was a little trigger happy and it got away :)
The ranch is so beautiful.
We checked out the children's museum one morning. The boys had fun playing dress up, doing arts and crafts, and building things.
Making donuts with grandma - he loved this! Ben and I went out to the shop for awhile and when we came back in, Carol informed us that Carson ate THIRTEEN donuts. THIRTEEN!! He barely ate anything the rest of the day. All I could do is laugh...
One of the 13...
Watching the Buckeyes in the playoff game - Carson insisted that he needed to watch the game.
And Hudson woke up not happy so he caught a few plays too.
Cheap gas - so nice for the long trip!
We opened presents on Friday morning. The kids had fun seeing what was in their stockings!
This picture perfectly depicts what it's like when we're all together - chaos :)
We had a great week as always. Can't wait to go out again this spring!

Glad your travels went well! The coyote get-up! I think you should start wearing that hat on the daily! Carson should enter a donut eating contest! ;)
