Carson Update - 28 Months

Because this is my "baby book" per say, I wanted to do an update on Carson at 28 months.  I love looking back to compare what Hudson is doing with what Carson did at that age, so here we go!  Carson is a ball of energy.  This kid loves life and goes full speed most of the day.  He sits still when the television is on or when he's asleep and that's about it.  He is so observant and continually blows our minds with the things he picks up on.  A great reminder that he's always listening even in my not so proud moments.

At 28 months, Carson is developing quite the imagination.  He loves to cook things with the tupperware and bring them to us to eat - but is quick to remind us that it's "just pretend" so we don't actually eat it :)  He also loves to pretend that he's different animals and run around the house.

He is Mr. Independent and is quick to let you know if he's not happy with what's happening.  He is stubborn and strong-willed.  He might look like his daddy, but he gets those lovely personality traits from me :/  He doesn't throw tantrums as much as just let out a high pitched scream and then he usually gets over whatever it is pretty quick.  Usually!  He is ornery as they come.

Nap time fun

He recognizes colors, letters and numbers up to 10 - I can't take credit for that.  We do puzzles and talk about letters, but he loves the show Word World and I'm pretty sure that's where most of his letter recognition comes from.  The other day my shirt said Helping Hands - he spelled out "H-E-L-P-I-N-G H-A-N-D-S spells SHIRT!" Not quite buddy :)

He has been fascinated by books his entire life and continues to love them.  We will curl up on the couch and read book after book - ones he has read over and over, and he never gets tired of it.  He notices new things in the pictures every time.  I think he will be my little reader.

He loves to watch PBS - he likes Curious George, Wild Kratts, Sesame Street, and Word World.  Last night at dinner he said, "Dear God, Thank you for mama, dada, and Wild Kratts.  Amen."  Embarrassing!!

Right now his favorite toys to play with are his big blocks to build towers and knock over, balls of any kind, and his play food.  He also really loves puzzles and his toy animals.

He is a huge eater.  I seriously don't know where it all goes.  He is constantly asking for snacks throughout the day.  His favorite breakfast foods are pancakes and eggs.  He has turned into somewhat more of a picky eater, but with coaxing will eat just about anything.

Some days he is interested in the potty and other days not at all.  He seems to get the concept and has been successful multiple times, but at this point has no interest in being potty trained.  Much to my dismay!

He loves to help in the kitchen and has a little stool that he is constantly setting up so he can be in on the action.  He loves to dump, stir, and wash dishes with lots of soap.  He accidentally touched a hot skillet last week and now fully understands that the stove is hot and we need to be careful :(

He is in daycare 2 days a week at my work.  He has a little bit of separation anxiety when I first leave in the morning, but does great the rest of the day.

He takes one afternoon nap usually around 2 hours.  He goes to bed around 8:30 and is usually up before 7.  He is in mostly 3T clothing and wears size 6 diapers.

He is such a sweet big brother and loves to try to hold Hudson if he is fussy.  He brings him toys, tries to make him laugh, and gives lots of hugs and kisses.  Like I said before, I can't wait to see their relationship continue to develop.

We love you Carson!
