Froese Christmas

The trip to Colorado was long, but the boys did great as always.  Hudson had fun giving himself some body art along the way - whoops.  The one negative to traveling on Christmas is that NOTHING is open.  It's always a challenge to find places to eat.  Thankfully this year we managed to find an IHOP and an Applebee's open and we didn't have to eat gas station hot dogs for our meals. :) Although the boys were pretty happy with their gas station Icees!

Beautiful sunrise on Christmas morning - one perk of driving the early morning shift.

We made it safely around dinner time on Christmas Day.  The boys were excited to change into their shirts and reveal the exciting news to grandma and grandpa Froese! :) We were the only ones around for the first day and a half while everyone else was celebrating with their other sides of the family.  We went to a movie one evening and just enjoyed the relaxed pace before all of the excitement began.

The boys love seeing their cousins.  We wish we could all be together more often.

We went to the high school gym a few times to get some exercise and let the kids run off their energy.  It was nice to have that option!

The boys shared a bed for the week.  They didn't always fall asleep the easiest, but other than that they did pretty well.  I loved walking in and seeing them sleeping together - so sweet!

We did our family Christmas celebration one evening and had a surprise visit from Santa himself :) The kids thought it was hilarious to see Grandpa like that!  They knew it was him right away.

Continuing the homemade donut tradition.  We all look forward to this morning!

New Years Eve with a great group of people.  We had such a fun evening laughing, reminising, and eating disgusting jelly beans.  Just ask Ben how the rotten egg jelly bean tasted on the way back up! :)

And then it was time to hit the road back home.  Such a fun week as always!  Carson enjoyed stretching his legs at one of the gas stations.

Not even 3 hours into our drive home I woke up to a very loud noise - Ben said he hit the biggest raccoon he had ever seen.  It must have been big because it cracked our front bumper.  And we thought we were saving money by driving and not flying ;)

It's always a good feeling to reach the Ohio line again!
