Swimming Lessons

Carson took swimming lessons earlier this summer at one of the local pools.  He had a blast!  The class was every day for 30 minutes for two weeks.  His good buddy Mason was also taking the same class, and Carson loved having a friend there to make him feel more comfortable.  They learned a lot of the basics - dipping their heads under the water, blowing bubbles, kicking, paddling with their arms, and safety.

Ready to go!

Trouble.

Mason come over to play one day after lessons.  Carson can't get enough of Mason and talks about him most days all day long.

Their biggest fans.  Most days they sat contently in their strollers with a few snacks and toys to keep them occupied.

Carson loved his teachers - they were great with kids!

Waiting in line for the diving board.

He shocked me - but he did it!  They went off the board several times during the two weeks.  Sometimes Carson jumped right off, and sometimes they had to help him.  Just depended what mood he was in.

The boys always wanted to play at the park after lessons - kind of hard to avoid when we walked right by the play equipment on the way to the car.  They played for a bit on most days.

Lollipops from their teacher for jumping off the diving board :)

This was a fun way to start the summer!  Carson was definitely more comfortable with the water by the end.  We have been swimming since and he was very excited to practice all of the things he could remember from lessons :)
