Life Before Baby #2

A bunch of pictures from the last several weeks...we're enjoying our last days as a family of three but more than ready to become a family of four!  I'm still feeling great and baby seems pretty content in there so we will see.  Two years ago at this time with Carson I was getting ready to head into the hospital in two days for my induction.  It's such a different feeling just "waiting" for labor to start on its own.  I think Ben is more anxious and nervous than I am! :)

We've spent many evenings walking to the park and playing.  We're all loving the warm weather that's for sure!

The Kempfs came to visit for a weekend post-tax season and pre-baby.  The guys went golfing to celebrate being done with taxes and Jenna and I got pedicures to celebrate surviving tax season without our husbands :)  It seemed justified!  We came downstairs Saturday morning dressed like this - whoops.  Not planned at all.

We had plans to go to the zoo - and the weather unfortunately did not cooperate!   We have a season pass so we decided to give it a try anyways since it didn't matter if we only stayed for an hour or two.  It was FREEZING but we stuck it out for a good part of the day.  Carson and Mason had fun despite the freezing temps.

Our picnic - complete with winter coats and hats :)

That is a fake smile - I was miserable at this point!

Out for dinner at City BBQ

They headed for home at bedtime on Saturday evening.  We were trying to get the boys to pose for a picture before leaving...easier said than done!  Even though there's over a year difference between these two, they have fun playing together.

Right after they pulled out of the driveway.  Meltdown!  Carson was bawling yelling Mason's name.

My mom got Carson this hat a few weeks ago.  He wears it all the time and usually asks to take it in the car wherever we're going :)

I went with a friend to get flowers to plant at her family's greenhouse.  Carson played with her relatives while we looked for flowers - I don't think he missed me one bit!  They had lots of fun toys and he did NOT want to leave.

My co-workers threw me a little shower at work for the new baby - very sweet and thoughtful!

We all took bets for when the baby will arrive, gender, etc.  As you can see no one has me going past my due date.  I hope they're right - Ben and I's guesses have already passed!

One Friday evening we got pizza and ice cream and headed to the park for a picnic.  It was a perfect evening.

Messy messy

During tax season Ben and I talked about what we wanted to do on our free Saturdays when he was done working and before the baby came.  One of the things I wanted to do was go to the North Market for breakfast.  Ben wanted to go to the zoo.  We woke up one Saturday morning and Ben suggested doing both, and it turned out to be such a fun day.  This was one of the many delicious things we bought and split for breakfast - a belgian waffle.  We ate an embarrassing amount of food between the three of us!

This time the weather for the zoo was much more enjoyable :)

Right after this the bird stole the nectar cup out of Ben's hand and it went flying.  Freaked Ben out and Carson was not happy he couldn't feed the birds anymore!

I don't know what we were thinking but we thought it was a good idea to let Carson touch a snake.  We both thought he would be timid and scared, seeing as how he won't touch a worm or a bug to save his life.  Well he went right up to the snake and tried to grab it out of the lady's hand!  She pulled it away from him and said maybe he should come back when he was a little older...looking at Ben and I like we were completely irresponsible.  Sorry cranky old zoo lady :)

This is his new smile when he says cheese - so photogenic :)

Another beautiful evening at the park

Playdate with friends

The tree in our backyard - I love spring!

Carson was helping me water flowers and it turned into him running through the hose and ending up soaked.  He was loving it.

We went to the zoo again today - I'd say we're getting use out of our membership!  Carson loves the animals and I walk around trying to induce labor.  Win win :)

The polar bears were so active today - it's by far my favorite exhibit at the zoo.

Helping water the garden

We're giving square foot gardening a shot this year, which means we planted tons more than we have in the past.  We're excited to see if stuff grows and how the method works!

He's big into trading popsicles so he gets a few bites of each color.  He's talking Ben into a trade here.

We're so excited for summer to be here!
