Last Days as a Family of 3...

It was a bittersweet couple of days leading up to the arrival of Hudson.  I was beyond excited to meet our little one and get started on the journey of being a mother to two children - but also a little sad about not being able to focus all of my attention on Carson anymore.  I'm sure anyone who has gone through having a second child can relate.  I didn't know how it would be possible to love another child as much as I love Carson.  We took advantage of our time left and did lots of fun things!

Helping stain his "new" swing set given to us from the neighbors...

...resulted in a giant mess.  But he had fun. :)

Playing hoops at the park

Fun new bubble machine that I bought for him at Marshall's on a day I was feeling sad for him - I was so worried he was going to feel replaced!

The day I was in labor - I had contractions the night before and knew that the baby was going to be here soon.  Carson and I went to the park to play and then to lunch at Chick-Fil-A.  I let him play in the play place after eating and told him he had 10 minutes.  He had been happily playing in the lower area of the play place for 9 minutes and when I warned him there was one minute left, he suddenly got brave enough to hoist himself up several levels to the top where all of the tunnels are.  The tunnels were solid colored so I couldn't see him anymore - I knew I was in trouble!  He had a pretty big fall off of the playground equipment a few weeks prior and since then has been hesitant going down slides, etc.  I could hear him yelling for me, but he wouldn't come down.  And there was no way this almost 40 weeks pregnant mama was trying to climb up there through the small spaces!  There were several other moms sitting there and tons of kids, so I tried to not let it show that I was panicking slightly :)  At one point I asked an older boy if he could help him down, and he told me no!  I could have cried and kicked him at the same time! :) FINALLY, after THIRTY minutes passed since I told him one more minute, he came back down the same way he went up.  It's funny now, but I was quite stressed in the moment :)
