Can't believe I am writing this post already! Hudson turned 8 months old last week and it has been a big month for him. So many changes and new developments - here's what Hudson is up to at 8 months old:
- He has two bottom teeth. Teething seems to bother him a bit more than it did Carson, although it's hard to tell exactly why he is fussy and not sleeping well.
- He is crawling, pulling to stand, and cruising along furniture. He takes a few steps with a walking toy before losing his balance. He loves to be up where the action is!
- He is eating all sorts of pureed food and also started eating puffs and yogurt melts this month. He can't get enough of them. He has definitely taken more of an interest to eating solids and eats well at meal time.
- He recently started clapping and waving hi and bye. It's pretty cute!
- He loves to yell and babble - sometimes it sounds like babababa or mamamama but usually it's just a bunch of loud noises at this point :)
- He doesn't have full on stranger anxiety yet, but when mama is in the room, that is who he wants and he will fuss until I am holding him. A good feeling but can also be frustrating!
- He still loves bath time, reading books at bedtime with big brother, and making the lights and sounds on his toys work.
- He reaches up for others when someone is going to pick him up.
- He weighs roughly 20 pounds, wears 6-12 month clothing, and size 3 diapers.
- He is a terrible sleeper. Actually terrible might be an understatement. The last month he has woken at night a minimum of 3 times per night, and some nights (like last night) it's more like 6 times a night. We ruled out an ear infection, so now it is time to teach this baby to sleep. Carson went through some stages where his sleeping was less than desirable, but never anything like this. And it's tough to let him fuss when Carson is sleeping in the room right beside him! We know it's a stage and that he will eventually sleep better, but sometimes at 3 am it's difficult to remember that!
- Still takes a pacifier and nurses 5-6 times a day.
We love you little man! Even if you don't let us sleep...hoping for a better month ahead ;)
Love this boy. He sleeps just fine when you just snuggle with him!! ;)
