Family Vacay 2014

We had a fun family vacation to Williamburg, VA!  We were all a little unsure of the location, but it ended up being perfect.  We had great weather, the condos were nice, and the area was really pretty with lots to do.

Happy traveler

This is the least blurry picture I could get.  We stopped at a rest area for a stretch break and this kid ran laps in the lobby for 10 minutes straight.  Happy as could be!

Ben's cousin got married the day our vacation started, only 3 hours from Williamsburg.  It worked out perfectly to go to the wedding on the way and stay with Jenna and Geoff for a night.

Jenna and Geoff moved to a new house since we've been there - and now they have a pool.  Score!  It was chilly but that didn't stop the boys from getting in the water.

Love this girl.  Keep praying for her!!!

I didn't get many pictures at the wedding, but these three enjoyed the candy bar that was at the reception :)

We left for Williamsburg after the wedding and arrived at the condo about midnight.  It was a fun week of relaxing, swimming, eating too much, and playing games.  It's always fun to have a week away with my family where there's no responsibilities to worry about!  We had a great time.

One rainy day Marissa and I took Carson and Harper to a bounce house.  We of course stopped at Starbucks on the way (it was Star Dash...we might have gone to Starbucks quite frequently throughout the week!) :)

Our condo for the week

We had one bedroom with a king size bed.  We thought Carson would just sleep with us, but there was this large window seat that made the perfect bed for him.

We drove to Norfolk one afternoon where one of Kyle's childhood friend lives.  He works for the Navy and he gave us a tour of the US Naval Base.  It was very interesting and fun to see all of the different ships.

This is how Wengers eat ice cream.  You don't even want to know how many cartons of ice cream were consumed in 7 days!

We spent an evening exploring Colonial Williamsburg.  Most of the attractions were closed for the day, so the streets were quiet but it was kind of nice to avoid the crowds.  We just walked up and down the main street until our dinner reservations.

The meal was fun - everyone that served us were dressed in character.  There was live music during the evening and a story teller walked around as well.  We all enjoyed it!

Duck Donuts - good thing we didn't discover these until the second to last day!  They were yumm-o.

My sisters and I rented bikes one morning - the scenery was awesome and we had fun!

Like I said....Star. Dash.

This was us every evening - so fun!

Sunscreen hair :)

The last evening we got manicures before going out for dinner.  We figured since the guys treated themselves to golf several days, we deserved something too... :)

Such a fun week!  On the way home we stopped in Harrisonburg again for a few hours to see the Shirks again.  We had a fun day just hanging out and then eating dinner before we hit the road home.

Typical :)

Love these girls so much!

We arrived home about 2:30 in the morning.  The boys slept the whole 7 hour drive home in the car, and then when we transferred them inside they woke up.  They had a party in our bed for about an hour before they finally fell back asleep!

Can't wait for the next one!
